University of Yamanashi Offering Distance Learning for Students in Ukraine
On Thursday, March 24, 2022, University of Yamanashi offered the distance learning for the students in Ukraine.
National Aerospace University–Kharkiv Aviation Institute, which the one of the top universities in Ukraine, requested the distance learning for the Graduate students deprived of learning opportunities to us.
By this request, we decided to offer the on-demand lessons by the system which is used for exchanged program (it is called “Alliance Yamanashi”) with the Yamanashi prefectural University.
At the press announcement, President Shinji Shimada said” I am impressed by the Ukrainian students to never give up the learning. It is our mission as educators to respond to their passion for learning. I want to spread this project to all over Japan.
Kseniya Fomichova, who is from Ukraine, a worker at the university, explained about the starting of this project.
She said” This project makes Ukrainian people have the courage to live.
Thank you for your prompt response.”
Vice president Mao Shaoyan explained that we offer 13 courses in 3 areas related to the artificial intelligence (AI), the clean energy, and the water environment to the graduate students of 12 universities in Kharkiv, and also students have the opportunity to attend face-to-face classes.
The project will begin as soon as it is ready, and will now consider increasing the number of classes offered as well as accepting the joint research and the online internships.
