A paper by Professor Makoto Obata of the Faculty of Engineering, ” A Stochastic FRET Study on the Core Dimension of Polystyrene-block-Poly(Polyethylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether Acrylate) Micelles,” was published in Langmuir by the American Chemical Society, and was selected to be featured on the supplementary cover of the journal.
In this paper, the stochastic FRET analysis using Monte Carlo calculation revealed the detailed structure and swelling behavior of the polymer micelles, which is a promising candidate for drug carriers. Professor Obata commented that “understanding polymer micelles’ structure and dynamic behavior is crucial for their application in drug delivery systems and other uses. The photophysicochemical method developed in this paper is expected to be a powerful tool.”
