“G-philos Summer Bash”- the Center for International Education and Exchange Held an Event to Promote Inter-Cultural Understanding
An event, named “G-philos Summer Bash!”, was held by the Center for International Education and Exchange on July 11th ,Wed. The event aimed to promote inter-cultural familiarity and understanding through providing the students the opportunity to touch the culture of different countries.
On the day of the event, international students as well as Japanese students dressed in the folk costumes of their own countries. The participants of University of Yamanashi Summer Program 2018 from Hangzhou Dianzi University, China, University of Technology, Sydney, Australia, Oxford Brooks University, the UK, and University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, also joined the event with experiencing wearing Yukata which they learned in the program. All the participants enjoyed Nagashi Somen(flowing noodle), one of the typical seasonal tradition in Japan.
On the same day, at “G-philos”, colorful Tanabata decorations were displayed. Both international and Japanese students enjoyed hanging the Star Festival paper strips of their wishes onto the bamboo trees.
