2nd Exchange Camp Program with Students at the Khon Kaen University
The Department of Education at the University of Yamanashi offers an Exchange Camp program for university students at the Khon Kaen University. From January 8th through 10th 2017, Professor Kyohei Kawamura and his students visited Nam Nao National Park in Thailand to share camping experiences with students from the Department of Japanese teacher training. On the 11th of January, a meeting was held with the faculty members at Khon Kaen University.
This project was created fruitfully by the three collaborators: Professor Kawamura, Professor Maitree, Dean of Education program at the Khon Kaen University, and Professor Nuchwana from the International Exchange Center in Thailand.
The purpose of this second Exchange Camp program was to broaden all students’ horizons through spending time together and sharing different knowledge across cultures during the camping experiences.
During such eye-opening experiences, the students from our university were not only impressed by positive active learning attitudes of Khon Kaen University’s students, but also were able to raise interest in Thai culture and/or cultures other than Japan in general.
