Encouraging students who want to study abroad event, “Want to study abroad? Your first step starts here”
The event to encourage students who want to study abroad, “Want to study abroad? Your first step starts here”, was held by the Center for International Education and Exchange at Kofu Campus, on Oct. 19th (Wed).
This time, professional English study advisors who are regular on duty at the center did planning and management of the event.
Four students who studied abroad for about a year were invited as speakers. Since each of them studied abroad at partner universities, they introduced study abroad programs of our university they enrolled.
22 students and teachers took part in this event and were carefully listening to speakers’ experiences and memorable episodes from each countries where they went: the United States, England, Australia and Thailand.
After the presentations from speakers, participants and speakers had discussion so the participants could ask many questions about studying abroad. Many of participants had same kinds of problems such as, “I would like to study abroad, but don’t know what to do”, or “I would like to study English, but don’t know the proper way”.
This event gave these students a good opportunity to ask someone who has answers to these problems, and to step forward toward making their dream come true to study abroad.
The center is now offering some programs; there are next year’s exchange study abroad programs with partner universities and coming spring short-term study abroad programs. We are looking for students who would like to join these programs. You can find the details on YINS-CNS and our website.
